I haven’t written about a commuting adventure in quite sometime, mostly because I no longer commute. However, yesterday I took a rather long drive up to the North Country of New Hampshire for a job interview and I think it warrants a blog.
First of all, the weather was schizophrenic.

As mentioned in several other posts, I meet a LOT of strange people on my daily commute and most of them against my will. This particular guy was, I’m guessing, trying to impress me.
The only thing he impressed me with was his storytelling ability.

I don’t sleep much. Too much running back and forth across state lines all day every day.
Sleep is for the weak.
Catnaps, however, are for every single spare moment I can find.

I was not a happy commuter last Friday night. For starters, I missed my train by a mere two minutes and every other train that was scheduled to leave at the same time was delayed by 5 minutes. But no, not mine. That line may very well have the timeliest trains in MBTA history. So I had to wait an hour and a half at North Station to catch the midnight train home…and then go right back to work again the next morning. Needless to say, I was not amused.

I don’t know if this happens to anyone else on their daily commute, but it happens to me ALL the time. I’ll be just walking down the street on my way to a T station when some random guy will hit on me as we pass by each other. This is what I call a “hit and run” (they hit on me, I run away).
