Ravenous is out TODAY!

"A welcome return to a complex land of fantasy and friendship."

-Booklist

RavenousHCSecond books are strange beasts. In some ways they’re easier, because you know what to expect, and in other ways they’re even trickier. There are expectations now from yourself, your publishing house, and your audience. Fortunately, I’ve had the opportunity to work with an amazing group of people—at HarperCollins, New Leaf Literary, online, and at home—who’ve supported me and Ravenous the whole way through. I get to work with the absolute best people, and if you’re one of them, please know you have my infinite gratitude for all that you do!

I’m so thrilled that Greta’s story is out in the world today. She’s a girl who is just as strong as Kymera but in very different ways. And you’ll also get to meet Rosabel in the prequel novella, Precious!

Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to talk to many readers, and the booksellers, librarians, and teachers who’ve put Monstrous (and hopefully soon Ravenous) in their hands. Monstrous and Ravenous are truly books of my heart, and nothing is better than knowing there are people out there who love them and love sharing them. Thank you.

If you’ve already pre-ordered Ravenous or read an ARC, thank you so much!

Happy Book Birthday, STITCHING SNOW!

GUYS. This is a very special day. One that’s been many years in the making. In fact, I’m so excited, that I may have snagged a copy at my local B&N a day early. It’s STITCHING SNOW‘s book birthday! Congrats RC and Essie! 😀

SSinBN

Look! Shiny foil spine!! SO PRETTY!

Now, I’ve known R.C. Lewis for a few years now, and yeah, I’ve read this book before (be jealous!) and I can’t WAIT to dig in to the final version. And you know what makes me extra happy? The world now gets to meet one of my all-time favorite characters – Dimwit. You can’t possibly understand the awesomeness until you’ve read STITCHING SNOW, so go forth and find out for yourself.

Then you too, can be a member of the #TEAMDIMWIT Fan Club.*

I’m not just the co-president, I’m also a member.

And here’s something I’ve wanted to do since Mindy, RC, and I all got book deals:

Shelfie1

Shelfie!

It’s like we’re all hanging out together!

I’ve said it before, but truly, the only thing better than seeing one’s own book on the shelf in a bookstore, is seeing one written by a friend. I’ve known RC since back in the day over on AgentQueryConnect, where we crawled through the query trenches together for many years. We even have oddly parrallel journeys – we both got agents and deals on our 7th manuscripts, we both queried for almost 4 years, and both our books sold in only a couple weeks (we’re twinsies!). Today, she’s officially a published author and I couldn’t be prouder! 🙂

STITCHING SNOW is out in stores TODAY.  Go forth and experience the epicness for yourself!

Princess Snow is missing.

Her home planet is filled with violence and corruption at the hands of King Matthias and his wife as they attempt to punish her captors. The king will stop at nothing to get his beloved daughter back—but that’s assuming she wants to return at all.

Essie has grown used to being cold. Temperatures on the planet Thanda are always sub-zero, and she fills her days with coding and repairs for the seven loyal drones that run the local mines.

When a mysterious young man named Dane crash-lands near her home, Essie agrees to help the pilot repair his ship. But soon she realizes that Dane’s arrival was far from accidental, and she’s pulled into the heart of a war she’s risked everything to avoid. With the galaxy’s future—and her own—in jeopardy, Essie must choose who to trust in a fiery fight for survival.

CONGRATS, RC! MAY YOUR BOOK FLY OFF SHELVES EVERYWHERE! 😀

*No, really there is a fan club. Me and Charlee Vale are co-presidents. We have bracelets to prove it! And soon T-shirts. Then, the world! 😛
