I don’t know if this happens to anyone else on their daily commute, but it happens to me ALL the time.  I’ll be just walking down the street on my way to a T station when some random guy will hit on me as we pass by each other.  This is what I call a “hit and run” (they hit on me, I run away). It’s also almost exclusively done by black or Hispanic guys (must be that damn ghetto booty!).

Requisite Disclaimer: I have absolutely no problem dating guys who are black, white, green, or even purple, provided that I find them attractive and they appear to have bathed within at least a day or two.  As a general rule, the “hit and run” guys look (and smell) as though they have never even heard of a shower and often they are at least twice my age.  Both of these things are serious turn offs.

So, as an FYI to any guy that may happen to walk by me on the street, if you…

  • …are wearing your full pimp daddy regalia (complete with bright velvet purple pinstripe suit with matching feathered fedora and walking stick),—unless you’re an actor in a play—I’m not interested.
  • …are old enough to be my daddy, I’m not interested.
  • …don’t know what a shower or bath is, I’m not interested.
  • …have the urge to call me “baby,” “darlin’,” “sweetheart,” or “honey,” and you don’t know me, I’m not interested.
  • …can’t manage to put together a complete sentence, I’m not interested.
  • …are covered in mud or an unidentifiable substance, I’m not interested.
  • …reference my butt in any way, shape, or form, I’m not interested.
  • …want to slap my butt, I might be interested, but probably not.
  • …think you are a “gangsta” or want to be one, I’m not interested.
  • …hit on me and ask me for spare change in the same breath, I’m not interested.

As flattered as I am by the fact that, apparently, there are a lot of very creepy men in Boston who find me attractive and as entertaining as it was for the first year or two, I think I would prefer to commute in peace now—thank you very much!
